About Larry Herzberg
Professor Larry Herzberg spent 13 years at four universities studying many foreign languages intensively. His love of literature led to a B.A. in English from Lawrence University. His master’s and Ph.D. work in Chinese were done at Indiana University. He has been a professor at Calvin College since 1984.

Larry and his wife, Qin, recently published a book on China travel, China Survival Guide, that is now one of the country’s best-selling books on China. Together, they have produced a one-hour documentary about China today that tries to clear up many of the misunderstandings and stereotypes that Americans have of China.
